Surprise! Last Minute HGS Live Tickets
Also, where we stand with Season 4 (it's really good) & the song on repeat in my car
Hello! Hope you’re well. Here’s the latest:
4 Tickets!
All 300 tickets for Holy Ghost Stories Live sold out several weeks ago, but our fantastic hosts decided to cram a few more seats into the room, adding 40 more spots. 36 of those are gone, but there are 4 left as of this moment. If you wanted to join us for the show and weren’t able to snag a seat, this is your chance. Thanks to our hosts, the ticket is free—you just have to get to Midland on October 30.
I’m praying it will be an enchanted evening that’s a gift to everyone who attends. I hope I get to see you there.
Australia Calling
Last night I had the chance to chat for a couple of hours with some storytellers in Sydney who work with an organization that shares the gospel with kids in Australia. It was so much fun to drop in on one of their training sessions, getting to talk shop and think together about our craft, Scripture, and the incredible storytelling God we serve.
I’m grateful to Matt and and the team at Quiz Worx for a delightful conversation and for the great work they do. The kingdom is big and so very bright.
It’s Happening…
My composer and I are hard at work on the incredibly exciting (and enormous) project that is Holy Ghost Stories Season 4, and I just had to share this update with you: So far we’ve raised 72% of our production budget for the season! 🙌🏼 🙌🏼 🙌🏼. Hallelujah. God is up to something here, and as I praise Him I’m deeply grateful to so many of you who’ve given generously toward HGS and Season 4 in particular. Thank you!

Let’s Talk About Balaam & His Donkey
Over on Patreon, the HGS Raconteurs are privy to periodic conversations between me and my editor(/wife), in which we chat about a particular episode: behind-the-scenes details, storytelling decisions I made, and various points of application the story seems to be begging for.
This time we got into the mysterious power of blessings & curses, how to spot pride, why Balaam was famous—all kinds of stuff. It’s a lot of fun, and I’m happy to let all of you Raconteurs out there know that a new episode just dropped! Enjoy.
3 Cool Things
Experiencing God - My wife and I are reading Henry Blackaby’s classic, Experiencing God, and we’re both really loving the straightforward simplicity of it. Christianity is a strange thing sometimes—we’re easily distracted and we tend to be drawn to unnecessary complexity. Blackaby’s perspective is a breath of fresh air.
Dead Poets Society - Rewatched this longtime favorite a few weeks ago with my teenage daughters—something I’ve been waiting to do for years. I love this movie—we all did, in fact, and so we made it the theme of this year’s family Haloween costume. Guess who gets to be Mr. Keating??
Sweet as Coca-Cola - My wife is out of town, so it’s just me and the girls right now. I live with three women, so anytime my wife leaves and the male/female ration changes even just a little, my daughters and I call our time together a “Boysssssss Triiiiiiip.” 🤷🏼♂️ We’ve christened this bop the official anthem of this particular Boys Trip. I don’t know what the song sounds like if you don’t blast it in the car and I have no interest in finding out.
That’s the latest! I’d love it if you pitched in on Season 4, and don’t forget about those tickets you’re welcome to if you can make it to Midland next weekend.
Gratefully,
Justin
